FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What does the fitness benchmarking test you for?

Benchmarking is a functional all body, strength and cardiovascular test.

Q: Where do I record my results?

You record your results in the Pineapple Fitness App

In the app, click on your profile picture then go to the ‘transformation app’. Here you will be able to input a progress picture and your measurements if that is something that appeals to you as well as your run time and strength results.

Q. Why do you recommend doing doing measurements and progress pics over weighing myself?

The number on the scale is very deceiving and too many times successful habit change is sabotaged because of this. Your weight is important, but it’s only one spoke in the progress picture wheel. Our weight is the combination of all your body mass. It is made up of fat, muscle, water, bone, ligaments, organs, hair, and everything else. If we put two people side by side that both weigh the same, but one person has 8% body fat, and the other has 40% body fat, will the scale be able to tell the difference? Yep!

The best way to measure your weight loss progress is by how your clothes fit and your measurements. AND we want other elements of health such as energy, wellbeing, mindset, confidence, skin health, immunity, gut health, strength and endurance to improve as well as we loose weight - how do we do that? By living a wholistic healthy lifestyle just like the 9.5 principles in The Pineapple Method! No starving or unhappy minds here!

Q. Who will see my results?

Your results are completely confidential and only your Pineapple coaches will be able to view anything you put in the transformation log!

Q: What are the fitness tests?

Q: What are the fitness tests?

  1. Run for Time

  2. Thrusters (DB) in 60 seconds.

  3. DB Chest Press in 60 second.

  4. Plank - how long can you hold it for?

See, it’s short and sweet! You got this!

Q: Where can I participate in benchmarking?

Measurements - Every 4 weeks either at home or by asking a Pineapple Coach to take yours.

Fitness - Every 8 weeks! It will run at 6am, 9.30am and 6pm on a Monday!

The dates for the rest of 2021 are:

  • July 19th

  • September 13th

  • November 8th

Q: What is a great result and what is a bad result?

There is no great, average or bad score. What you achieve is a just benchmark for your current functional strength and fitness, a line in the sand for us to look back on and see how far you have come!

Q. Why are we taking our measurements every 4 weeks but our fitness test every 8 weeks?

From Brit and Shell’s combined 16 years helping women change their lives and bodies, we have observed that sticking to a training schedule is the easy part. Maintaining a balanced diet that is optimum for weight loss or weight management is the tricky part AND diet plays the biggest part in whether you lose or gain weight. You’ve probably heard the phrase, you cant out train a bad diet and it’s true!

Significant and motivating changes can happen to your body composition in small periods of time if you stick to The Pineapple Method hence why we are encouraging/offering body measurements to be done at a more regular interval - in short to keep you motivated through momentum!

Once you hit your goal, the focus is on maintenance and this is where you can opt to drop back to less regular measuring sessions. Or you can choose to keep it up 4 weekly. By this stage, you might find chucking on that trusty pair of jeans or shorts you love and like to fit in serves you better.

In terms of fitness, by all means you can choose to do the test more regularly on your own but 8 weeks is the optimum time for us to ensure you’re going to see results when you retest. That’s if you are working out consistently each week and pushing yourself to a 8-9 out of 10 in at 2-3 of of your sessions each week of course ;)

Q: How much does it cost to partake in benchmarking?

It is free to partake in the benchmarking. All you need to do is register on the Pineapple App and turn up on the day.

Q: How long does the test take to complete?

20 mins from start to finish! The rest of the session will be a normal workout!

Q: When do I arrive and how long do I need to prepare?

We suggest everyone who wants to participate come down 5 minutes early to prepare and warm up your body. If you would like a coach to take your measurements for you, we can do it in this time too! Bring your phone or a piece of paper to write your results done before inputting them into to the app later.
